Principal's Message

Dear Starr King Families and Students,

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! As your principal, I am thrilled to embark on this journey with our transitional kindergarten through 8th-grade students. This year marks my 8th year as an administrator in the San Juan Unified School District and my 18th year in education.

I firmly believe that strong family partnerships are the foundation of student success. At Starr King, we are dedicated to meeting the unique needs of every child. Our mission is to educate and empower students to become inquisitive, resilient, and collaborative individuals. We achieve this through evidence-based academics and vital social-emotional learning, all within a safe, respectful, and responsible community.

We look forward to partnering with you to create a welcoming environment where every family feels valued. Together, let’s make this school year our best one yet!

James Reinhard

Principal, Starr King TK-8
